A certified public accountant for sixteen years, Brian S. Perkis has more than fourteen years of professional experience in entertainment finance. He is the founder and principal of accounting, tax reporting, and consulting practice primarily focusing on the needs of entertainment industry clients. Brian’s role is to assist clients with the development of effective growth strategies, and the creation and implementation of streamlined operational strategies which allow for strategic and timely business decisions.

Brian Perkis started his entertainment finance career at Miramax Films. For the three years, he was at Miramax, he was responsible for the financial management of 30+ feature films and television shows per year totaling approximately $100 million per year in production investments. This included budget and cost reporting, oversight of production tax credit deals, management of credit relationships as well as currency exchange, guild, and other production financial matters. Brian provided weekly reports to senior management to enable timely production and creative decisions.

Brian then joined the highly-regarded independent film production company, GreeneStreet Films, as Head of Finance and Controller. During his six-year tenure, he oversaw the many financial management functions that he did at Miramax and also managed all corporate accounting, tax, and finance operations. His duties included the creation and effective roll out of its international sales subsidiary as well as a genre film division.

After leaving GreeneStreet, Perkis spent three years at Turner/truTV as Director of Production Finance.

In that capacity, Perkis was responsible for the financial oversight and management related to the production of more than 300 hours of original programming annually. He established and integrated all production finance reporting (cash flow, quarterly financial details, tax credit reporting, and variance details) and analysis (forecast, budget, and business deal modeling). Additionally, Brian worked with senior company management to monitor budget expenditures of the company’s Development, Production, Research, and Programming departments.

He lives in Park Slope Brooklyn with his wife and three kids and is actively involved with many educational, civic, and religious organizations in his neighborhood.
